We bring you the best tutors, with the best rates out there so you can choose the best tutor for you.

How do you get the best tutors?

We seek out the best tutors through schools, universities, local communities, referrals and even through job sites much like any other job.  We screen all of our tutors to ensure that they have the teaching, academic or professional qualifications that they need to be a great tutor.

We also get feedback from all or our parents and students throughout the tutoring to ensure that our tutors are always delivering the professional service that you would expect.

Do your tutors have Police Checks?

Not all of our tutors have a DBS (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or PVG (Scotland) police check however a significant majority do given that we only accept qualified teachers and professional tutors.  We do let you know when one our tutors does have a background check with a "Police check" badge on their profile.

We do complete ID checks of all of our tutors to ensure they are who they say they are and to adhere to anti money laundering legislation.

How much does tuition cost?

At Love2Teach our tutors will pick the price that they want to charge and this will be displayed on their profile when you search for them.  This price includes everything including our platform charge so there should be no hidden charges for you.

To give you a general idea of costs, sessions vary in price depending on the level of study, subject selected, experience of the tutor and where you are in the UK, but in general we typically see a range of £15-40 per hour.  Some of the key variables we see with our tutors are:

- We see experienced tutors and qualified teachers/lecturers at the higher end of the scale typically £25-40

- Where we see shortages of teachers across the UK we typically see higher prices eg Physics or Chinese

- Typically the higher the level of tutoring the rarer the number of tutors who can tutor so the price tends to be higher

- London tends to be about £5-15 an hour higher than the range above

Where does tuition take place?

Where the lesson should take place is for agreement between the tutor and parent/student but we typically find it is where the parent/student feels would be best.  We have seen a variety of places where lessons take place, but there are typically from the following three:

- At the students home

- In a public place such as a library or a coffee shop

- Through our online classroom where each individual can join the lesson from wherever they and their computer is

We recommend that parents are around when children under the age of 16 are being tutored and most parents of children this age will ask for the tutoring to be done within their home.

How do I exchange contact details with a tutor?

Unlike other tuition sites, we don't charge you for your tutor's contact details - you only pay for each lesson you have with the tutor. In order to get their details you will need to organise a lesson and once they have accepted the lesson, we will send each of you each others details so you can make any details.

Until you've booked and confirmed your first lesson, our messaging system allows you to message tutors to agree on all of the details of your tuition.

How do I pay a tutor?

Once you have agreed your first lesson with a tutor, you will need to set up your payment details on our systems.

Payments must be made before the lesson takes place.  This ensures that the lesson is confirmed and that the tutor is paid promptly after the lesson.

If a lesson is cancelled by the tutor, you will be refunded.

Our tutors do not accept cash and all lessons are booked through the site - Please don't ask our tutors to go "offsite" as ultimately this would lead to them being suspended from Love2Teach and puts them in a really awkward position.
